Austin Arthur, candidate for Orange County Commission District 1, has raised over $200,000 between his campaign and the Political Committee created to support his campaign. He also has earned the endorsements of four West Orange mayors and over 20 council members, commissioners, and leaders from the area.

“I could not be more grateful for the success of our campaign, especially as an outsider who is challenging the incumbent, this amount of support is totally unprecedented in such a scenario” said Arthur. “This is clear evidence that the residents and local leaders who live and work in West Orange are looking for something new in Orange County. People are hungry for common sense community fueled leadership at the county level. That’s what I plan to offer.”

“I’m also humbled by the number of folks who have told me that our campaign is the first political donation they have ever made. They are the fuel for this campaign, residents of District 1 who are worried about the direction of our county, about the cost of living that is hurting our working families, and about the needs of our neighborhoods- which are often being overlooked and deprioritized,” stated Arthur.

The West Orange County elected officials endorsing Arthur include Winter Garden Mayor John Rees, Oakland Mayor Kathy Stark, Ocoee Mayor Rusty Johnson, Apopka Mayor Bryan Nelson, and all five Windermere Town Council members in addition to several commissioners and leaders from within West Orange County. These elected officials are also hosting a “Rally to Victory” community event for Arthur on February 6th to help spread the word. This event is open to the whole community, and free tickets can be secured by visiting withaustin.com/rally.

“Austin is a bright and vibrant community-minded leader who has been advocating for the things that make our area a wonderful place to live and spend time. He is a businessman, a promoter of the family, and a smart growth advocate. I know he will work hard for the families in District 1. He has my trust and mysupport,” stated Winter Garden Mayor John Rees.
